OFFSITE SERVICES

GHL have many years of experience in the design, fabrication and installation of ‘offsite’ structures. We can and have applied this knowledge and experience to frames for new-build property, extensions, loft conversion and garden rooms.

We have worked with a range of systems and materials including the following:

  • Traditional open and closed panel timber frames in softwood and hardwood

  • Engineered timber frames including glulam and cross-laminated timber

  • Structural insulated panel systems (SIPS)

  • Hot-rolled steelwork

  • Cold-rolled, light-gauge steelwork

  • Any combination of the above

We have deliberately not restricted ourselves to any particular material, system or technology so we can consider the options and deliver the optimum solution for your project.

The benefits of offsite manufacture are well published (and true) and include the following:

  • Higher quality and accuracy than traditional methods of construction

  • Shorter construction programmes

  • Greater value for money and improved returns on investment

At GHL we prefer to take the offsite stage further than the majority of suppliers delivering elements that are insulated, plasterboarded, with windows and doors installed and with provision for servicing so that you can commence the fit-out and furnishing works much earlier in a shortened construction programme.
